Now. I will say that Paris did not get it’s due respect as at this point in the trip as I am quite exhausted from lugging around probably 70 pounds of baggage across Europe. However, I know I’ll be back one day so this stint in Paris is more of a getting the lay of the land than an official trip.
Of course I couldn’t go to Paris without visiting the must sees. The Eiffel Tower was magical. I wasn’t aware of the champagne effect that the Tower takes on at the top of the hour every night – so that was a pleasant surprise.
The Louvre was quite fun. To this day, I still don’t understand why some paintings get all of the love and others are kicked to the curb. Like any other tourist, however, I took my picture next to the Mona Lisa “just to say we freaking did it.” – Drake
The Pont de l’Archevêché (or “Love Lock”) Bridge was also quite inspiring as one can see how much love there is in the world. Hopefully their love lasts as long as their lock does. Haha I wonder though, if a couple splits up does the lock fall off??!
One last thing I will highlight is that Paris knows how to make someone spend some money. All of the shops are amazing. The Galeries Lafayette was great as it was essentially a huge Macy’s with different stores inside. The Champs-Elysées was also cool as there was an eclectic mix of high-end shops and stores the average person can afford.
While Paris was short, it was definitely sweet. I cannot wait to come back and take the city by storm.
